In my childhood and adolescence, I focused my studies on science while compulsively drawing on walls and playing drums in a punk-funk band. Afterwards, I started a degree in Agricultural Engineering, which I finally left it to study Arts, where I graduated in Design and New Media Art. I soon started working as a web and interactive designer. But, even so, I kept drawing on walls, painting on rooftops, making site-specific projects in public spaces... always provoking interactions between humans and non-humans, between nature and technology, between satellites and screens, between shared perceptions and fictions. It was then that I decided to dedicate myself 100% to artistic practice. I consider that it is the best place to understand our world and also to start building a better coexistence within the networks we share with otherness.

En mi infancia y adolescencia, enfoqué mis estudios hacia las ciencias mientras, eso sí, dibujaba compulsivamente en las paredes y tocaba la batería en un grupo de punk-funk. Comencé la carrera de Ingeniería Agrónoma (dos años) pero la dejé finalmente para estudiar Bellas Artes, donde me licencié en Diseño y Nuevos Medios. Empecé pronto a trabajar diseñando páginas web e interactivos. Pero, aún así, seguía dibujando en las paredes, pintando en los tejados, interviniendo en los campos y las plazas públicas... siempre provocando interacciones entre humanos y no-humanos, entre satélites y pantallas, entre percepciones y ficciones compartidas. Fue entonces cuando decidí dedicarme a la práctica artística al 100%. Considero que es el mejor lugar para entender nuestro mundo y, también, para construir mejores convivencias dentro de las redes (de convivencia, cuidados, inspiración y colaboración) que compartimos con la otredad.

Multidisciplinary artist, PhD in Contemporary Art (UCM, Madrid) and specialised in New Media Art (Media Lab, UIAH, Finland), researcher and lecturer at UCM Faculty of Fine Arts.

He develops his art-based research in the field situated technologies, public interventions, post-locative art and the synergies between art + nature + technology.

His body of work have been exhibited at museums both nationally and internationally, including the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art (South Korea), the Carrara Marble Museum and Fondazione Pastificio Cerere in Rome (Italy), The Drawing Center (New York), or ABC Museum (Madrid) and Center Arts Santa Mònica (Barcelona), among other international art centers and galleries. He has obtained art awards and international research and production scholarships such as the Beca de Artes Plásticas de la Real Academia de España en Roma (Italy), or the Gyeonggi Creation Center International Exchange Program Artist Residence in Seoul (South Korea), the XX Premi Ciutat de Manacor dʼArts Plàstiques (Mallorca) or the II Artistic Research and Production Grant from the Espai Rambleta Contemporary Art Center (Valencia), among others.

Artista multidisciplinar, premio extraordinario de doctorado en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, especializado en New Media Art en el MEDIA Lab de la University of Art and Design Helsinki (UIAH, Finlandia), e investigador y docente en la Facultad de Bellas Artes UCM. 

Desarrolla su investigación en el ámbito de las tecnologías situadas, las intervenciones públicas, el arte postlocativo y las sinergias entre arte + naturaleza + tecnología.

Ha expuesto su obra en el Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art (Corea del Sur), el Museo del Mármol de Carrara y la Fondazione Pastificio Cerere de Roma (Italia), The Drawing Center (New York), o el Museo ABC (Madrid) y el Centre Arts Santa Mònica (Barcelona), entre otras instituciones artísticas internacionales. También ha obtenido premios y becas de investigación y producción como la Beca de Artes Plásticas de la Real Academia de España en Roma, o el Gyeonggi Creation Center International Exchange Program Artist Residence en Seúl (Corea del Sur), el XX Premi Ciutat de Manacor dʼArts Plàstiques (Mallorca) o la II Beca de Investigación y Producción artística del Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Espai Rambleta (Valencia), entre otros apoyos a la investigación y producción en arte contemporáneo.
