"Manual of equine orthograph" / "Manual de ortografía equina" (MDOE)
Specific and performance intervention in the hippodrome in Manacor (Showed at Manacor Museum), Mallorca.
MDOE summarises the creative process of living and contextual immersion in the specific world of TROTTING and its development through the orthopaedic intercessions of movement and the vision of the drawing, which was expanded from March 2014 until December of the same year.
Drawing created with wheels and horses on clay with plaster and marbline. Some eyes, a nose, some eyebrows in the foreground, on which the horses literally trot, erasing and destroying its gaze. The intercession of the wheels and hoof prints set out a new and indirect drawing, risky and unpredictable, that it constructs by destroying the previous purpose.
Work that aims to make the TROTTING culture visible through extended drawing and the destructive movement symbolic of traditions that are “in front of our eyes”. MDOE retains an exhibition screen based on multiple videographic records, two sculptures/tools of equine scripture (crutches and an odometer), an eye chart (to measure the horseshoes’ capacity for reading at a distance) some personalised occluders and a careful graphic work (laser engravings in cardboard of the routes over the drawing in the hippodrome).
